Using Your Planner
When you reserve Sunrise Villa for your wedding, you are given access to a personal wedding planner. She is available by phone and/or email to discuss and help plan the details of your special day.
Wedding Photographs and Video
Sunrise employs a local professional photographer and videographer. A complete set of photos, or the type normally associated with weddings, are taken on digital camera. Generally 80 - 100 photos are taken. A digital video is also taken of the ceremony and reception. The photos, on CD, and the video, on DVD, are presented to you on departure.
Flowers and Decorations
Your wedding planner will work with you on colors, flower and decoration types, based on island availability. While choices are sometimes limited, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of what is offered.
Making it Legal
To legalize your marriage, there are a few easy steps. You’ll need to bring some basic documents with you. The afternoon before your wedding you’ll visit a local justice of the peace, sign some papers, and receive a license and a certificate. This takes about an hour.
The Ceremony
We offer the use of a local non-denominational minister, English-speaking of course, to conduct the ceremony. Working with the planner, you may write your own vows and design the ceremony. Alternatively, the minister will conduct a short “off the shelf” ceremony.
The Reception and Dinner
Your Sunrise wedding includes all the things you would expect in a typical wedding. Cutting the cake, the toast, a beautiful buffet dinner, elegant table decorations, soft music, candles, all included and staffed by experienced professionals.
The Party
Sunrise Villa is well equipped for the big party. With a bar, sound system, and a great dance area, we promise a party to be remembered. A bartender is included, and your music choices are, your own music on any digital media, our house CD collection, or an optional Dominican Meringue Band. We also offer a professional dance instructor for those wanting to learn to dance “the Dominican Way.” The house specialty is “Salsa!”
